The April Women’s Luncheon was a huge success. The guest speaker Rola Makki, the new MiGOP Outreach Vice Chair spoke through most of the luncheon, including an extremely informative Q & A session at the end of her speech. The audience was made up of many KGOP members as well as some visitors from around the state. Both former State Party Chair Candidates, Scott Greenlee and Matt DePerno were in attendance. Others included the former KGOP chair(s) Scott McGraw and Tony Lorentz. The Huizenga team updated the audience with news from Congress, and Commissioner Wendy Mazer also gave a brief countywide update. Many were able to stay after to discuss current issues with each other and the guest speaker. All in All another wonderful KGOP Women’s Luncheon.

Ms. Makki described her journey to become the Outreach Vice Chair, her entry into the world of politics, and most importantly her vision for bringing the various diverse communities together into the GOP. She discussed the current challenges and her message that people of all faiths; such as Muslims, Christians, and Jews, and others have common values. Those values are GOP values. Important conservative issues like supporting small businesses, parental rights and protecting our children, individual rights, and putting family values first.

Dr. Tamara Mitchell, KGOP Outreach Chair, expressed her desire to have Ms. Makki and the State Outreach Committee work with the KGOP Outreach committees on common issues, working to expand our party locally and statewide.

Kelly Sackett – KGOP Chair said, “Rola was great, and she represents the kind of leadership we need to win back our state”, she went on to say, “We look forward to working with Ms. Makki in the near future and continue the good work they are doing in reaching new people in our county.”
