Growing up there were precious few sources of news. Of course, there was the nightly news on television and most people had a newspaper delivered to their homes. I also remember Public Service Announcements on TV reminding viewers of the dangers of using drugs, starting forest fires or littering in our parks and waterways. Those PSA’s taught us a lot in a few short segments.

Fast forward a few years to when CNN introduced us to the 24-hour news cycle. You could get an update on world events any time of the day, in places all over town like a coffee shop, restaurant or the airport.
Now everyone it seems has their smart phones instantly update them on the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment. But what news source should you follow? There are so many news outlets, from the networks, cable news and radio, to print media, the internet and blogs. How can you follow them all?

Everyone has one or two favorites. But are you missing out on news that might directly affect you and your family? President Trump and his team are moving at lightning speed implementing the America First Agenda. Our Governor and state legislators are working on matters that affect Michigan families. And your local city council and board members are passing laws and ordinances concerning your community.

An educated, informed voter is critical to protecting our conservative, family values. This is why here at the KGOP we are increasing our efforts to keep you informed. Our team of volunteers are working to bring you the news that involves or affects Republicans. We’re checking a wide variety of news sources daily, both conservative and liberal. From Washington, DC to Lansing and closer to home here in Kalamazoo, we’re trying to bring you the information about the politicians and legislative processes that will have the most impact on your life.

No one site can bring you all the news. But the KGOP can be one additional source that can help you stay informed and engaged. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, sign up for our weekly newsletter and periodically check in with our website at kgop.org.
