Warning: If we don’t get people to step up and run for office, the democrats will swoop in with a landslide victory. Why? Because we don’t have enough Republicans running for office. It’s that simple.
There are several offices here in Michigan and Kalamazoo County, in which there is no declared Republican challenger to the democrat running for office. The democrats appear to be more organized and motivated to defeat the Republicans in these midterm elections.
The big offices are covered, such as U.S. Senate and Governor.
I’m referring to our state and local offices. We need patriots willing to step up and ensure our conservative voices are represented in Lansing. For instance, right now it appears State Representative Julie Rogers-D is running unopposed for Michigan Senate District 19. That office is currently held by State Sen. Sean McCann, who is term limited out and is now vying for U.S. House District 4, currently held by Congressman Bill Huizenga-R, who is running for reelection.
As of right now, we don’t have anyone declared for State House District 40 to oust Rep. Matt Longjohn-D. We also need someone to run for the open State House District 41 seat, being vacated by Rep. Julie Rogers.
If a state office in Lansing seems too daunting for you, how about running for school board? If you’re not happy with the way things are going in our schools, with the low reading and math test scores, woke ideology and child safety issues, then here is your opportunity to make a change for the better. Every school district in Kalamazoo County and neighboring districts will have at least two open seats on their school boards in November.
We want to help you. Here’s a perfect opportunity for you to learn how to run for office. On Saturday, March 21st at 10am, the Kalamazoo Republican Party will host a Candidate School here in our office at 5250 Lovers Lane, Suite 110. We’ll show you what it takes to run for office, help you decide what office would be best for you, and assist you with the application process.
