Tue. Feb 24th, 2026

This Thursday evening, Republican precinct delegates, across the state, will convene for their local convention to elect which delegates to send to the State Endorsement Convention. That convention will be held Saturday, March 28th.

During the State Convention, delegates will officially endorse Republican candidates for statewide office, whose names will appear on the November 2026 ballot. There are several categories they must decide. The first is for Michigan Secretary of State. Those candidates include Anthony Forlini, Amanda Love, and Monica Yatooma.

The next category is for Attorney General. These candidates are Kevin Kijewski and Doug Lloyd.
Next the delegates will pick two Michigan Supreme Court Justices. No Republicans have officially declared their candidacy.

Local delegates will then decide on two State Board of Education members that will run on the November ballot. Candidates include Bree Moeggenberg and Terrance Collins.

And finally, delegates will choose from several candidates for University Boards. At the University of Michigan, the Board of Regent candidates are Lena Epstein and Michael Schostak. Michigan State University Trustee candidates are Julie Maday and Roger Victory. And Wayne State University Board of Governor candidates are Christa Murphy and Andy Anuzis.

Traditionally, Republican party delegates made their choices in August. But during the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference last September, the State Committee voted to move up the State Endorsement Convention to March. This gives our slate of candidates a time advantage over the democrats to get their message out statewide, campaign and fundraise.
