Americans across the country are preparing to celebrate the long 4th of July weekend. From backyard BBQs to beach parties and awe-inspiring fireworks, we will commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

If you ask most people in this country, I believe deep down every citizen knows this is the greatest country on earth. But sadly, a new Gallop poll shows American patriotism is declining. (results)

The decline in national pride is split dramatically along party lines. Only 36 percent of Democrats say they are proud to be an American. That’s down from 60 percent in 2024. Politics have clouded their judgement. Their hatred for one man has affected their reasoning, turning their heart against their own country.

The poll found Republican patriotism has largely remained steady from last year, compared to this year. 92 percent of Republican say they are proud to be an American right now, compared to 85 percent in 2024. (results)

Our Founding Fathers created an amazing country. They acknowledged our God given freedoms and laid the foundation for our government to grow and flourish. Americans today have amazing opportunities because of what happened 249 years ago. But if you aren’t proud of this great country just because of who is in the White House right now, I urge you look deep into your heart. This weekend, look past your anger and into the future, and celebrate the 4th of July with your family and friends and realize there has never been a better country.
