“Honor to the Soldier, and Sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country’s cause.” -President Abraham Lincoln.

In honor of Veterans Appreciation Month, it’s my honor to announce that Kalamazoo County Parks has passed an ordinance allowing veterans, that reside in Kalamazoo County, to access our beautiful county parks at no charge.

As a veteran, you have guaranteed the security of our nation. All you need is the veteran designation on your driver’s license or a copy of your DD214. Show either one to the Veteran Service Office, located at 311 Alcott St, Kalamazoo MI. The office is on the ground floor. Go up to the VSO window and a staff member will check your identification. Once verified, you will receive a Kalamazoo County Park sticker for your vehicle. Comstock has stickers for Robert Morris Park. The City of Portage is doing the same thing at Portage City Hall.

Also, be sure to register your DD214 at the Kalamazoo County Clerk’s Office. Upon doing so, you will receive a card that allows for discounts at local veteran friendly retailers.
I love this Country, and I will never quit fighting for those that love her.
