State Representative Jim Haadsma

Whereas, on April 19, 2022 Jim Haadsma attended a Democrat Party Fundraiser in Kalamazoo, where an alleged sexual assault occurred.

Whereas, on April 20, 2022, Jim Haadsma met with both the victim and alleged perpetrator at his law office to act as a mediator between the two parties.

Whereas, the alleged perpetrator’s organization (AFL-CIO) donated $2,000 to Jim Haadsma’s campaign during the 2022 election cycle.

Whereas, donations from AFL-CIO to Jim Hadsmaa were given after the mediation took place.

Whereas, we have reason to believe that Jim Haadsma’s actions may have been intended to keep the victim from going to the police, and keeping the allegations from being public before the November 2022 elections.

Whereas, we ask the Democrat House Leader Joe Tate to bring a motion to the House floor to censure Jim Haadsma for his involvement in a possible sexual assault coverup.

Whereas, we ask the Michigan Education Association, who gave Jim Haadsma $8,500 last election, to denounce the actions taken by Jim Hadsmaa.

Whereas, we ask the Justice Political Action Committee, who gave Jim Haadsma $10,000 last election, to denounce the actions taken by Jim Haadsma and to reiterate the importance of taking all sexual assault allegations seriously and to demand justice be served in this case. That any attempt to silence or coerce a victim from going to law enforcement does not represent what the Justice PAC stands for.

State Representative Julie Rogers

Whereas, on April 19, 2022 State Representative Julie Rogers attended a Democrat Fundraiser in Kalamazoo, where an alleged sexual assault occurred.

Whereas, we have reason to believe that State Representative Julie Rogers was involved in a possible cover up intended to keep the victim from going to the police, and keeping the allegations from being public before the November 2022 elections.

Whereas, we ask the Democrat House Leader Joe Tate to bring a motion to the House floor to condemn Julie Rogers for her involvement in a possible sexual assault coverup.

Whereas, we ask IBEW PAC, who gave Julie Rogers $2,000 last election, to denounce the actions that occurred at the Park Place Club on April 19, 2022.

Whereas, we ask Michigan Laborers PAC, who gave Julie Rogers $4,500 last election, to denounce the actions that occurred at the Park Place Club on April 19, 2022.

Whereas, Julie Rogers accepted $2,500 from AFL-CIO this election cycle. Jonathan Byrd, the alleged perpetrator of this sexual assault was the President of the AFL-CIO.

Now may it be resolved, that the Kalamazoo County Republican Party Executive Committee hereby passes this resolution and for it to be known, that we the KGOP, believe that all sexual harassment and/or assault allegations shall be taken seriously, and that elected officials shall not use their power or position to silence victims.

State Senator Sean Mccann

Whereas, on April 19, 2022 State Senator Sean Mccann attended a Fundraiser in Kalamazoo, where an alleged sexual assault occurred.

Whereas, we have reason to believe that State Senator Sean Mccan was involved in a possible cover up intended to keep the victim from going to the police, and keeping the allegations from being public before the November 2022 elections.

Whereas, we ask the Democrat House Leader Joe Tate to bring a motion to the House floor to condemn Sean Mccann for his involvement in a possible sexual assault coverup.

Whereas, we ask Planned Parenthood of Michigan, who gave Sean Mccann $2,500 last election, to denounce the actions taken by Sean Mccann.

Whereas, we ask Friends of Western Michigan Univeristy, who gave Sean Mccann $1,600 last election, to denounce the actions taken by Sean Mccann and to reiterate the importance of taking all sexual assault allegations seriously and to demand justice be served in this case. That any attempt to silence or coerce a victim from going to law enforcement does not represent the ideals of the Western Michigan University PAC.

Kalamazoo County Prosecutor Jeff Getting

Whereas, on April 19, 2022 there was an alleged sexual assault that occurred at a Democrat Party Fundraiser at Park Place Club in Kalamazoo.

Whereas, we have reason to believe that there may have been a coverup coordinated by local democrat officials to keep the allegations silent before the 2022 November election. When did Jeff Getting become aware of this alleged assault?

Whereas, some of the Democrat officials implicated in this scandal have given money to Jeff Getting’s campaign in the past.

Whereas, according to reporting by the Detroit News, Jeff Getting had a personal relationship with both the alleged victim and perpetrator.

Whereas, under Jeff Getting as the Kalamazoo Prosecutor, crime has skyrocketed in Kalamazoo County. Yet Jeff Getting is focused on mingling in politics instead of prosecuting criminals and ensuring sexual assault victims are treated fairly and get justice.

Whereas, due to Jeff Getting’s political mingling with Labor Unions, a likely delay occurred in the pursuit of justice for the victim.

Attorney General Dana Nessel

Whereas, on April 19, 2022 (the date of the alleged sexual assault) Attorney General Dana Nessel was in Kalamazoo.

Whereas, through multiple social media posts, it can be reasonably concluded that the fundraiser in which the assault occurred, was a fundraiser for Attorney General Dana Nessel.

Whereas, a member of the Kalamazoo County Republican Party Executive Committee reached out to the Attorney General’s office to confirm if Dana Nessel attended a fundraiser in Kalamazoo on April 19, 2022. The AG office  responded with “what news organization are you with? ”…and refused to answer the question.

Whereas, that Dana Nessel may have been involved in a sexual assault coverup to mitigate the damage that could occur politically if the event became public knowledge before the November election.

Whereas, as of the first initial reporting by the Detroit News, the alleged sexual assault case was being reviewed by Dana Nessel’s office.

Whereas, Attorney General Dana Nessel should recuse herself and appoint a special prosecutor to review this case to ensure justice is served for the female victim.

Whereas, what did Dana know and when did she know it?

Now may it be resolved, that the Kalamazoo County Republican Party Executive Committee hereby passes this resolution and for it to be known, that we the KGOP, believe that all sexual harassment and/or assault allegations shall be taken seriously, and that elected officials shall not use their power or position to silence victims.
