Gospel Mission Tour on Friday (We will NOT meet at KGOP)

Gun Owners Must Vote to Protect Their 2A Rights
There will NOT be a Friday Coffee meeting at the KGOP.

INSTEAD, we will meet at the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, 448 North Burdick Street, at 9:30 am for a tour of the facility.

The Gospel Mission, part of Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries, provides food and shelter to homeless. In the past year the organization provided more than 91,000 nights of emergency shelter to men, women and children and served 111,000 meals. In addition, 69 people were moved into stable housing and 77 gained employment.

The Gospel Mission is adjacent to the bus / train station. Please note there’s very limited parking, so consider carpooling. You may park on streets or in nearby parking ramp located one block away, at corner of North Rose Street and Eleanor Street.

Gun Owners Must Vote to Protect Their Second Amendment Rights

By Andrea Lundgren

Gun Owners: Turn in Your Weapons to the KGOP

Did I get your attention? Good, I want to draw your attention to a critical situation developing. This week the United States Supreme Court let stand Maryland’s ban on assault-style rifles, such as AR-15s, and high-capacity magazines. The decision leaves in place a ruling by the Fourth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals which ruled the state may constitutionally prohibit the sale and possession of these weapons. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/supreme-court-allows-ar-15-ban-in-this-state/ar-AA1FX3WQ?ocid=BingNewsSerp

Rulings like this will become more commonplace as we allow it to happen.
You’ve heard the phrase “elections have consequences.” This will be the consequence if gun owners continue to skip elections.

Following the 2024 Presidential election, records showed more than 370,000 legal gun owners in the state of Michigan were not even registered to vote. And it’s not just a local problem. More than 10 million hunters and gun owners across the country aren’t registered to vote. https://www.americanhunter.org/content/10-million-hunters-and-gun-owners-not-registered-to-vote/

We must change this if we’re going to protect our Second Amendment rights. Electing President Trump was important should another opening on the Supreme Court happens in the next couple years. 2026 will be critical if we’re going to elect a Governor who will have the opportunity to appoint local judges who could rule on your gun rights.

I’ve heard the argument “it’s just one vote, my vote doesn’t matter.” Every vote matters! There have been dozens of elections decided by one vote.

In 2024, Democrat Elissa Slotkin beat Republican Mike Rogers for U.S. Senate by less than 20,000 votes. Just imagine what the outcome could have been if those 370,000 gun owners had registered and voted in this past election.

Now let me make it clear, please do NOT  bring your weapons to the KGOP office. We are NOT collecting guns nor ammunition. But we can help you register to vote. We will even help you vote for candidates that will protect our Second Amendment Rights.

And sign up for the permanent absentee ballot list, ensuring you never miss a national, state or local election. Sign up for the “Permanent Mail Ballot List.” https://www.michigan.gov/sos/-/media/Project/Websites/sos/Elections/Election-Forms/Absent-Voter-Ballot-Application-Fillable.pdf?rev=4d217f56f6454564a484fbb715768a17&hash=FB07641F244259C5F9FE0D5AF58520D7

Fill out this form and check the box in section 2 to join the “Permanent Mail Ballot List.” You can then email the form back to the Secretary of State, mail the form to your local clerk’s office or bring the form in person to your clerk’s office.
