U.S. Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming) will be the keynote speaker for the 2018 Lincoln Tribute Dinner, sponsored by the Kalamazoo County Republican Party (KGOP).
“We are honored to have Liz Cheney speak here in Kalamazoo,” said KGOP Chairman Scott McGraw. “Ms. Cheney has a long history of conservative Republican activism and is a leader in foreign relations in Congress. Her address is a very timely one with President Trump’s announcement this week in pulling the United States out of the Iranian Nuclear Deal.”
Cheney serves as Wyoming’s lone member of Congress in the U.S. House of Representatives. She was first elected in 2016, on a platform of pursuing conservative solutions to help create jobs, cut taxes and regulation, expand America’s energy, mining and ag industries and restoring America’s strength and power in the world.
The 51-year-old is the eldest daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife Lynne Cheney.
She has spent much of her career involved national security and in Middle East relations, specifically with regard to Iran and Syria. In August 2013, conservative Newsmax magazine named Cheney among the “25 most influential women in the GOP.”
The 123rd Lincoln Tribute Dinner is the KGOP’s largest event each year and will be held on Saturday, June 23, at the Kalamazoo Radisson. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the dinner program starting at 6:30 p.m. A private VIP reception will be held at 5 p.m.
“Liz Cheney is not afraid to speak her mind and show her conservative values,” McGraw added. “I am thrilled to have her come to Kalamazoo and tell her story here.”
Tickets for the Lincoln Tribute Dinner are $75 each. VIP tickets for the dinner and the private reception are $125 each. To purchase tickets online, go to https://kgop.org/product/2018-lincoln-tribute-dinner/.
