Bill Schuette, Michigan’s popular attorney general will be the keynote speaker in Kalamazoo at the Republican Party’s Lincoln Tribute Dinner to be held on Thursday, May 26 at the Kalamazoo Radisson.
Schuette, who is in his second term as attorney general, has led a distinguished career in Michigan politics, serving as a United States congressman, director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture, Michigan state senator and as a judge of the Michigan Court of Appeals. He is the only attorney general in Michigan history to have served in the executive, legislative and judicial branches of state government.
“Bill Schuette has been a great friend to Kalamazoo and I couldn’t be happier to have him speak to us at this year’s Lincoln Tribute Dinner,” said Scott McGraw, chair of the Republican Party of Kalamazoo County. “Bill has been a strong advocate for victims and his work against human trafficking has been stellar.”
As attorney general, he formed the Michigan Commission on Human Trafficking and engineered the plan to fund the testing of thousands of long-abandoned DNA evidence boxes to provide justice to victims of sexual assault.
